“Detritus” Green Hexagon Australian Sapphire & Argyle Baguette Diamond Engagement Ring
“Detritus” Green Hexagon Australian Sapphire & Argyle Baguette Diamond Engagement Ring
The forest floor has always felt an intimate place to me. Dappled light under a green canopy, the texture of the detritus mess underfoot and the unique species that thrive there. The colours in this ring bring me back to a trip to the Daintree as a child - the ferns and figs of the rainforest that stretched out so far, but cocooned us in a world so ancient it felt incomprehensible.
The Argyle diamonds in this ring are where the name comes from - slightly different tones of brown, the inclusions in them giving a leaf-litter appearance.
A little bit Art Deco, a little bit modern. Using straight and tapered baguette diamonds to lead down the finger, the champion stone is a 1.98ct precision-cut hexagonal sapphire from Rubyvale, Queensland. It has a few minor inclusions and a few razor-thin blue stripes inside, too microscopic to photograph but they’re one of my favourite features.
